My name is Julien and I am the founder at Earth Beneath our Feet. Pierre, my husband, and I would like to thank you for stopping by.
Have you ever been told that someone was surprised you were “normal”? It happened to us a few years ago after a French friend stayed with us for a few days. Her boyfriend at the time had clearly had little exposure to gay people; I have never seen someone so uncomfortable in my life. After the trip, my friend called me to apologise and explained that he was surprised; we were “normal people” and we had welcomed them very warmly.
Though our life in many aspects is very similar to the life of straight people, we still live in a world where we are reminded everyday that we are different.
I decided to create this blog to show what our life looks like as gay people; two married men who aim for a “normal” life filled with love, happiness and adventure. We will cover anything from travelling, going out, and how we organise our finances, to the biggest adventure of all: having a child!
